Group Game Design Prototype

 




This game is designed based on the card games, plunder resource and get achievements as the game mechanism. Players navigate a mysterious map of hidden terrains, each harboring valuable resources crucial for expansion and dominance. With a core mechanism focused on resource acquisition through dice-rolled fate and strategic positioning, players can engage in battles to occupy coveted lands or negotiate to build their fortunes. Whether it's gathering High-Tech Fragments in the desert, amassing Golden Coins, or controlling vital Resource Blocks, success lies in cleverly outmaneuvering opponents to fulfill diverse victory conditions.


We used the real  card as prototype, and define the rules in specific, including the part of 'Game Component', 'Initial Resource Allocation', 'Construction and Expansion', 'Fight Mechanism', 'Shopping and Transaction', and 'Victory Conditions'. The screenshot is one part of rules our designed.



Here is the shop design draft and we will refine it in the final presentation.






Since the game is designed for plundering resource, below are the Construction & Expansion Mechanism and Fighting Mechanism I want to introduce.


Construction & Expansion

Railway Construction

To connect two resource blocks, need 1 x ‘Railway’, which needs to use ’2 x ‘Wood’ and 1 x ‘Iron’,

Base Upgrading

Upgrade the ‘Base’, can gain 2 times resource, and add up 5 DEX., which need to use 5 xWood’ and 3 x ‘Iron’.



Fighting Mechanism

Trigger Condition

When two ‘Railways’ of both sides' players built in the same block, ready to fight. Each player uses 2 x ‘Wheat’ or ‘2’ x ‘Gold Coins’ to fight can trigger the fight. Each player role one dice 12 (1D12).

 

Combat Mechanism

-Attacker: 1D12 + STR

-Defender: 1D12 + DEX

 

Compare the dice:

-If Attacker dice point larger than Defender, then attacker win, then defender give 2 x ‘Golden Coin’, gain 2 x ‘Resource Block’ and 1 x ‘Strategy Card.

-If Defender dice point larger than Attacker, then defender win, then can destroy the ‘Railway’ of Attacker, and gain 2 x ‘Resource Block.’

-Otherwise, if players don’t choose to fight, then if dice the number match the resource block, both sides players can gain 1 x ‘Resource Block’.
